I was you.
I was 28, active and healthy. The truth was I felt like garbage a lot of the time.
I first went on the pill at 16. I was a gangly late bloomer told it would make my boobs bigger and my skin clearer, so I got on it ASAP. I didn't feel like myself on it, and I spent the next 5 years trying every pill I could find. At one point, I bled for 5 weeks straight.
In 2016 I got a hormonal IUD. The insertion was the most painful thing I've ever experienced, and the doctor barely warned me. The IUD broke me out all over my chest and back. In 2017 I started taking spironolactone daily, despite its side effects. I decided being constantly dizzy was better than having acne.

I couldn't cope with stress. I never felt rested no matter how much I slept. My libido was low, and every time I talked to my doctor about it, they would run my blood work, tell me it looked fine, and send me on my way.
Finally, things changed when a traditional Chinese medicine doctor mentioned my IUD could be causing some of the symptoms I was experiencing. At first, I was in denial. If my birth control was affecting more than just my ability to get pregnant, surely someone would have told me, right?
I had no idea hormonal birth control had been shutting down ovulation and my natural cycle and could be the cause of the symptoms I was experiencing. It was a light bulb moment for me.
Around the same time, a girlfriend mentioned she was using Fertility Awareness Methods to avoid pregnancy naturally. I had never heard of it. This was during the pandemic, and I spent all my free time researching Fertility Awareness Methods, birth control, and women's hormones. I could not believe what I was learning, and I started talking about it with my girlfriends, who turned out to be just as poorly informed and hungry for this info as I was.

I really wanted to use Fertility Awareness Methods as birth control, but I was terrified of getting pregnant.
At first, I tried to self-teach. I read Taking Charge of Your Fertility. I love learning, and I'm a bookworm and highly analytical. I was certain I could figure it out on my own, but I pretty quickly got burnt out on the decision fatigue, the doubt, the confusion and overwhelm. I already had a lot on my plate. Since the stakes were so high, I didn't feel like I could gamble with FAM.
I found a Fertility Awareness Educator to work with so I could get one-on-one support and make sure I was actually learning it correctly. Little did I know this would change the entire trajectory of my life. After my first session, I was hooked. I was in awe of all that my body was doing and shocked at how little I knew about it. In one session, the knowledge I learned had changed my life, and I knew it had the power to change many more lives.

I got my IUD out on March 15, 2022. I confirmed ovulation in April.
I weaned off the acne medication. My libido returned, my sleep improved, I got my spark back. For the first time I felt safe enough in my own body to take risks, so I started living my life for myself, and built a business to help women do the same.
This is why I do this. I believe women's lack of knowledge about their own bodies is keeping them at war with themselves, and that the more in tune we are with what's going on internally, the easier it is to go after our goals, to be happy, to feel vibrant, to foster good relationships. So much of that starts with the relationship we have with ourselves, and that starts with the relationship with our cycle.
Now I get to spread this information that changed my life to other women so that they can be empowered and live their happiest, healthiest lives. I couldn't be more grateful for this path. I'm so glad that you're here.

Learning this should feel empowering and exciting, like you're catching up with a girlfriend, not sitting in a classroom, reading a textbook.
I'm certified and I do this every day
- Certified Fertility Awareness Educator and Cycle Coach, three years in, and I read charts for a living
- I've used this method myself for over 4 years, preventing pregnancy without hormonal birth control or pregnancy scares
I've read hundreds of women's charts
- Including the messy, ambiguous ones nobody puts in a textbook
- Engineering degree, years as a data analyst - teasing apart patterns is my zone of genius
Nothing is TMI, and no judgement ever
- I literally get photos of cervical mucus sent to me for a living. This is a safe space
- What you share with me stays between us
- For anyone with a cycle, women and non-binary folks both. My teachings are pro-choice and secular
I'm obsessed with teaching this, and my enthusiasm is going to rub off on you whether you like it or not.
Women deserve more options
- Women don't have informed consent until they're told how hormonal birth control actually works, and what the side effects are
- Until Fertility Awareness Methods are part of that conversation, women aren't being given the full story
And outside of all this
- I'm just a girl, and my motivation in life is to have as much fun as I possibly can outside with family, friends and loved ones
- I use the knowledge of my cycle to support my athletic lifestyle
- I believe every woman should be empowered with this life-changing knowledge

“Knowing her science and engineering background before she went into Fertility Awareness Methods made me a lot more confident in the type of teacher she would be and the knowledge she would be bringing.”
“Haley is extraordinarily knowledgeable about teaching FAM and I enjoyed every bit of it! She’s very thorough with her teaching and offers one-on-one support, which I found to be very helpful for my specific questions while learning how to chart.”
“Haley was easily accessible and always very responsive. Very easy going and enthusiastic!”
